It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event, during or outside normal school hours. We want all our children to look smart when at school and feel proud to wear their uniform.
Our uniform policy is outlined below. We expect all our children to wear a school jumper or cardigan carrying our logo and these can be purchased via the Price and Buckland link below:

All other items can be purchased from any High Street store or supermarket, they DO NOT need to be order from Price and Buckland.

Footwear
All pupils should wear plain black school shoes that are strong, safe and sensible, these may be the same trainers worn as part of PE Uniform on PE days. High heeled shoes or boots are not acceptable to wear in school. Flat black sandals can be worn in summer, but open toe sandals are not appropriate as they leave feet unprotected. Footwear should not have any adornments such as logos, fur, braid, beads etc.
As all children will be wearing the same items of clothing, parents must ensure that all items are clearly labelled with the child’s name.
Good quality second hand uniform is also available. Please email the school office office@ecls.org.uk, or speak to a member of staff if this is something that you may be interested in.
Hair, Jewellery and accessories
- No jewellery allowed except for a watch and only small, plain studs if children have pierced These must be removed, by the child, for PE.
- Medical identification bracelets may be worn by children who have significant medical problems eg. Diabetes or epilepsy.
- Watches – to be analogue or digital. No smart watches.
- Hair accessories are to be kept to a discreet minimum and in blue – neither large bows nor headbands with decorative pieces are allowed.
- Dyed hair or shaved tramlines are not allowed.
- Nail varnish should not be worn in school.
- Make up is not allowed
Hijabs
As a school, we are happy for pupils to wear a hijab as part of their religious dress, however, we do have the following requirements:
- The hijab must be easily removed and replaced by the child
- Hijabs must be removed for PE
- They should be made of blue or white fabric, to match school uniform
As all children will be wearing the same items of clothing, parents must ensure that all items are clearly labelled with the child’s name.

Previously owned, second hand uniform
